ACIDANTHERA (Gladiolus Callianthus)
Many become seduced by the heady scent of this tall and exotic white-flowered plant, the Gladiolus callianthus, sometimes known as the Peacock Orchid. Very fragrant, heady flowers.
The leaves of the Acidanthera are straight and sword-like, resembling those of a distant relation, Crocosmia. Star shaped white flowers with voilet towards the centre.
Acidanthera's exotic origins (Africa) mean that it won't start to grow until summer has really arrived. Plant out in May or even June to avoid any frosts. Plant in clusters for the best show. Excellent as a cut flower.
Height: 75-100cm
Planting Depth: 5-6cm
Flowering: Late Summer
Price: 20 Bulbs - £5.95
